Who I am
Hi, I’m Denise. I’m a multimedia storyteller. I’m Filipino and I grew up in the Philippines. I moved to Texas at 18–because I don’t know, movies taught me that every story needs this big drastic change to move the plot along. Just kidding! I actually went– to study and get some work experience. After just over 4 years, I moved again. This time, I ended up in Canada, hoping to make it my permanent home. You’ll never know though, I’m the type who gets uncomfortable whenever things start to feel too comfortable. I am constantly trying to find my place and myself in an ever-changing world.
While I will always insist that I am not shy, I’m an extremely introverted person with many (big, extroverted and sometimes crazy) ideas. I’m quirky and borderline socially awkward, so I am always looking for a creative avenue that will help reflect who I am and what I stand for.
Why I’m writing this blog
TaftAve is one of those creative avenues where I hope to explore many creative ideas. It started off as Ispasiyo, but have recently been rebranded as TaftAve. The rebrand was a difficult decision, but necessary. (But that’s another story for another time.)
This blog explores ideas, aspirations and adventures about navigating the world as a young adult. It’s a lifestyle blog for the creatives, the passionate, the dreamers, and for everyone who wants to make a difference. The hope for TaftAve is to curate a space for everything that makes life worthwhile; a place that inspires, empowers and moves others to make their dreams happen.
